Men of God

Whenever God intends to move among a people, He often begins with a person. He finds a man, prepares him, and anoints him for a purpose. Throughout Scripture and even today, God’s pattern has remained the same—He works through vessels. Yet, as unique and anointed as these individuals are, one truth must never be forgotten: they are still men… but men of God.

God Works Through Men

This understanding is important because it helps us see both sides clearly—the divine assignment and the human nature. When this balance is missing, people either place unrealistic expectations on God’s servants or fail to recognize the weight of what God has placed upon them.

As it is wisely said, “Grace flows through vessels, but vessels are still human.”

The Humanity Behind the Calling

Jesus Himself is the perfect example of this balance. Though He was the Son of God, He came in the likeness of man and fully embraced human experience. He felt hunger, weariness, pain, and sorrow. When Lazarus died, Jesus wept—not because He lacked the power to raise him, but because He felt the depth of that moment.

In the same way, those called by God today are not exempt from human emotions or challenges. They feel pressure, they face discouragement, and they experience moments of exhaustion. Scripture reminds us that even Elijah was a man subject to the same passions as others.

Recognizing this changes how we relate to them. It removes unrealistic expectations and replaces them with understanding. It helps prevent offense when their humanity becomes visible, and instead fosters patience and grace.

Honour the Calling They Carry

While they are human, they are also chosen. Their humanity does not cancel their calling. God still works through them, speaks through them, and uses them as channels of blessing.

This is why honour is essential. Honour is not about elevating a person beyond measure—it is about recognizing the grace of God upon their life. When you honour what God has placed on someone, you position yourself to receive from it.

There is a powerful truth in this: “You cannot receive from what you do not value.” Honour creates an atmosphere where spiritual things flow freely. It opens your heart to instruction, correction, and impartation.

Position Yourself for Blessing

If God has placed a man of God in your life, it is not by accident. It is a divine arrangement meant for your growth and lifting. The way you respond to that relationship matters.

When you approach it with humility and honour, you create a channel through which God can bless you. You begin to receive not just words, but life, direction, and transformation. God responds to honour—He releases virtue, confirms His Word, and lifts those who value what He has given. Understanding both the humanity and the calling of God’s servants brings balance. It keeps your heart right and your expectations aligned.

Because at the end of the day, they are men—but men through whom God chooses to work.

Value and honour the men God has placed over you. Let your relationship with them become a conduit of blessing. You can’t receive from a Man of God you don’t truly honor.”

Pray this: I receive the grace to consistently honour the ministers that God has set over me in Jesus’ name.
