Let God

Every great promise begins with God—the One who gives it. This is why His promises often seem bigger than the person receiving them. They stretch beyond human ability, beyond logic, and beyond personal strength. If a promise can be fulfilled entirely by your own effort, then it likely did not originate from God. God does not speak small. When He promises, He speaks in terms that reflect His nature—large, abundant, and beyond human limitation. This is what makes His promises both beautiful and challenging. They require trust. They require dependence. They require you to let God be God. As it is often said,

“A God-sized promise will always require God-sized dependence.”

The Danger of Taking the Lead

When God promised the Israelites a land flowing with milk and honey, it was not just a vision of abundance—it was a declaration of His intention. Yet, the fulfillment of that promise was never meant to come through human strength alone. Scripture makes it clear that they did not possess the land by their own might, but by God’s favor and intervention. This is where many people struggle today. They desire the promise but attempt to reach it on their own terms. They move ahead of God, relying on logic, appearances, and personal calculations rather than divine direction. The story of Lot is a sobering example. He saw what looked like a well-watered, fruitful land and chose it based on what his eyes could see. It appeared right, but it was wrong. What seemed like opportunity led him into destruction. He ran ahead of God—and paid the price. There is a quiet but powerful truth here: “What looks right without God can still lead wrong.” Not every open door is from Him. Not every attractive option is safe. Without God’s guidance, even good-looking paths can end in regret.

You Need to Learn to Let God Lead

Scripture reminds us that it is not in man to direct his own steps. True submission means allowing God to take the lead—even when it requires patience, restraint, and trust. It means refusing to act outside His will, even when the pressure to move is strong. When God gives a promise, there is always a temptation to “help” Him fulfill it. To force outcomes. To make decisions that seem reasonable but are not aligned with His voice. But God does not need assistance in fulfilling what He has spoken. What He requires is trust. Letting God lead is not weakness—it is wisdom. It is understanding that the One who made the promise is also responsible for bringing it to pass.

You Can Walk into the Fullness of His Promise

When you follow God’s leading, you don’t just reach the promise—you experience it in its fullness. The Israelites eventually entered the land prepared for them, not because they figured it out on their own, but because God led them into it. The same is true today. When you allow God to direct your steps—where to go, what to do, and the decisions you make—you position yourself for a life marked by peace, clarity, and fulfillment.

So, whatever promise God has placed before you, resist the urge to rush ahead. Do not substitute His guidance for your own understanding. Trust His timing. Follow His direction. And allow Him to bring you into all that He has prepared. Because in the end, the safest and most rewarding place to be is where God is leading.

Those who run ahead of God often fall into mischief.
When it comes to decisions of life, where to stay, what to do, who to marry, etc., trust God to guide and lead you.
Say this Prayer: Lord, as from now on, I submit to your guidance and leadership in every area of my life, in Jesus’ Name.
