Topic: Value What You Have
Date: Thursday, 19th February, 2026.
Scriptural Emphasis: “And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.” Genesis 39:5
The blessings of God are meant to enrich our lives, but they can become burdens when we fail to recognize or appreciate the channels through which God brings them. Many miss the full benefit of their blessings simply because of poor perspective or lack of gratitude. Joseph’s siblings refused to see the blessing in him. They undervalued and sold him cheaply to fuel their own pride. What they ignored, Potiphar and Pharaoh recognized: everything Joseph handled prospered. Genesis 41:55.
Similarly, Jesus was sent to the Jews as the fulfillment of God’s promise, yet many failed to recognize Him, offering Him no room at His birth. Meanwhile, wise men from afar came to honour Him with gifts. The failure to value what God sends can rob you of blessings meant for your home, family, or generation. Matthew 11:21. Those who reject God’s blessing often end up seeking it later, at great cost. Like Joseph’s siblings, what was meant to be for them, they later had to travel and pay to get. God does not waste what belongs to His own. If you fail to value the people and opportunities around you, others will receive what was meant for you.
Reevaluate how you value the people and blessings God has placed around you. Appreciate them and enjoy the full benefit of their presence.
Action Point: Correctly evaluate, value, and honor the people and relationships in your life.
Prayer Point: Father, help me recognize and cherish the blessings You have placed in my life, in Jesus’ Name.
Quote of the Day: “If you fail to value what God treasures; you miss your blessing in them.”
